Comparison of sensation seeking and high risk behaviors in normal and delinquent children and adolescents

Abstract: Background and Aim: Our lives from birth to death are accompanied by positive and negative emotions. For every human being, there is something happening in daily life, hearing news, passing thoughts and doing all that. They can create emotions or emotions in the negative sense of these emotions for children and adolescents in the form of delinquency. This study was conducted as a comparison of emotion-seeking and high-risk behaviors in delinquent children and adolescents in Yasuj. Is. Methods: This study is a descriptive-analytical and comparative study, which is a sample of 160 children and adolescents in Welfare Organization, Education Reform Center and schools in Yasuj in two groups of 80 (case, control). Purposeful accessibility was selected and assessed by demographic and emotion-seeking questionnaires of children and adolescents of Rousseau. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 23. Results: In this study, most of the offenses were related to robbery (%41.2), quarreling (%32.6) and other (%26.2) respectively. Also in this study, there was a significant difference between sensation seeking children and adolescent offenders with normal children (P <0.05), and meaningful relationship between sensation seeking, adventure and social deterrence components, offender and normal adolescent children. There was significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Considering that this study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the sensation seeking behavior of normal and delinquent children and adolescents and related components (adventure and social deterrence), therefore, life skills training for children, adolescents and providing appropriate backgrounds, It is recommended to evacuate them by trainers and community administrators.
